The Bad Lieutenant Premise

The Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call - New Orleans draws elements from Abel Ferrara's 1992 film Bad Lieutenant, which featured a crooked cop (Harvey Keitel) who is a drug addict and takes sexual favors as bribes.

The main character is Terrence McDonagh played by Cage, a New Orleans Police sergeant, who starts out as a good cop, receiving a medal and a promotion to lieutenant for heroism during Hurricane Katrina. During his heroic act, McDonagh injures his back and later becomes addicted to prescription pain medication. McDonagh struggles with addictions and finds himself involved with drug dealer Big Fate, who is suspected of murdering a family of African immigrants.

World Boxing Organization (WBO) superflyweight champion Marvin "Marvelous" Sonsona will face his first title defense against Mexican challenger Alejandro “Payasito” Hernandez in a 12-round bout on Nov. 21 in Canada.

Sonsona, who won the WBO belt from veteran Jose “Carita” Lopez of Puerto Rico, remained undefeated in 14 fights (12 knock outs) while Hernandez has a fighting record of 22-7 (11 knock outs).

“This fight is for our country,” Sonsona said, “With help from God, I will win this fight. I would also like to request for the support of the Canadian and Filipino boxing fans.” Sonsona also thanked his friends in Gensan, Cebu and Metro Manila for their continuing support.

Promoter Sammy Gello-ani informed that the Philippine television coverage is courtesy of Solar Sports and GMA 7. Another Pinoy boxer Ciso “Kid Terrible” Morales will be in the undercard. The fight will be held on the morning of November 22 Manila Time.

Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao dominated the fight against Puerto Rican boxing star Miguel Cotto. He knocked out Cotto in round 12 on their boxing showdown in Las Vegas, Nevada last Nov. 14, 2009.
